In addition to random tower packings and mass transfer trays, structured packings represent another group of products that are used in the field of mass and heat transfer processes.
Hualai provides a broad range of innovative and conventional structured packings in both metal sheet and wire mesh materials for different applications.
The typical application fields for metal structured packings are processes with following operating conditions:
low irrigation densities high gas loads; low pressure drop requirement high demand of transfer units
These operating conditions are common in many vacuum distillation and rectification processes in the chemical and petrochemical industry, as well as in amine scrubbers, C3-, C4-splitters and applications in the field of fine chemicals.
Hualai structured packings are available in different specific surface areas and corrugation angles as well as in several finishing varieties:
smooth or textured surface perforated or unperforated
X (30°) or Y (45°) corrugation angles
standard or high-capacity corrugation geometry
0.1 or 0.15 mm metal sheet thickness
materials: carbon steel, stainless steel, others on request
Structured packing provides a large surface area per unit volume, which maximizes mass transfer performance and creates a lower pressure drop than conventional distillation trays. By reducing the pressure drop, structured packing increases energy efficiency. Together with our structured packing, we use our own demister / mist eliminators to maximize column performance.
Around the world, we have deployed our structured packing in chemical processing, steel, gas-to- liquid (GTL), gasification and a wide variety of other applications.
