2. Characteristics and application of structured packing,
① Through regular arrangement of components, uniform and regular gas-liquid flow channel is formed, so that gas-liquid contact in an orderly manner, so as to strengthen mass transfer, reduce amplification effect, reduce gas flow pressure drop and low liquid holding capacity. It is especially suitable for vacuum distillation of heat sensitive materials.
② According to the test, the performance of structured packing is better than that of bulk packing and tray under FP = 0.3 (vacuum, atmospheric distillation and absorption process with less liquid).
③ The absorption performance of structured packing is well controlled.
④ The treatment of foaming materials with structured packing is better than that of bulk packing or tray.
⑤ For all kinds of structured packing made of metal mesh and thin plate (thickness 0.1-0.2mm), the service life is short in corrosive medium, while the regular packing made of plastic mesh, plate and ceramic plate is corrosion-resistant.
⑥ Regular packing is more difficult to load and unload than bulk packing. It is easy to be damaged and not easy to clean.
