1. Structured Packing Mass Transfer Element,
The packed tower is a continuous contact gas-liquid mass transfer equipment, which is composed of tower shell, packing, tower internals, gas-liquid inlet and outlet pipe fittings, etc. The packing is the gas-liquid mass transfer element in packed tower, which determines the gas-liquid flow and contact transfer mode in the tower. Therefore, the material, structure and size of packing all affect the effective surface area and mass transfer coefficient of mass transfer, and determine the adaptability, effectiveness and economy of mass transfer process.
2. 250Y Metal Plate 304 Structured Packing from Hualai Factory:
250Y corrugated perforated packing is one main type of Hualai structured packings made of metal sheets. The punched and grooved surface structure provides ideal contact between gas and liquid flow.
Hualai’s structured packing is formed from vertical sheets of corrugated metal with the angle of the corrugations reversed in adjacent sheets to form a very open structure with inclined flow channels. To simplify installation, it is delivered in preformed segments that are sized to fit through the vessel manways. A high surface area will only provide efficient mass transfer if it is effectively used to increase vapour-liquid contact. So a variety of surface enhancements are employed to promote liquid spreading over the packing surface. The low resistance to vapour flow together with efficient use of available surface tends to give structured packings significant performance advantages over random packings in high vapour rate/low liquid rate systems.

4. Metal Sheet Distillation Tower Packing Advantage and Application:
Structured packing is a kind of packing arranged and stacked in accordance with uniform geometry in the tower. The geometry of the whole tower section is regular, symmetrical and uniform, and the gas-liquid flow path is specified, which reduces the phenomenon of channel flow and wall flow, and the pressure drop can be very small. Under the same energy cost and pressure drop, it can provide more specific surface area than random packing, and achieve higher mass transfer and heat transfer efficiency in the same volume. At the same time, due to the uniformity, regularity and symmetry of its structure, when it has the same specific surface area as random packing, its void ratio and flux is larger, and its comprehensive processing capacity is much larger than tray tower and random packing tower. After careful design, manufacture, installation and operation of tower internals (such as gas-liquid distributor), the industrial amplification effect is not obvious. In recent decades, structured packing has been widely used in many towers in fine chemical industry, perfume industry, oil refining, fertilizer, petrochemical industry and other fields.
