Metal Pall ring takes an advantage that as random packing being mass produced with standard elements, the delivery periods are relatively short from storage. Because the pall ring can be used in many applications regardless the size of columns, we hold a stock of most types of random packings for fast delivery.
Pall ring has the advantages of high flux, low resistance, high separation efficiency and high operation flexibility. Under the same depressurization, the treatment capacity of pall ring can be 50% larger than that of raschig ring. At the same treatment capacity, the pressure drop can be reduced by half and the mass transfer efficiency can be increased by about 20%. Compared with raschig ring, this kind of random packing has the characteristics of large production capacity, small resistance and large operation flexibility. Under normal circumstances, the treatment of the same pressure drop can be 50% - 100% larger than that of raschig ring, and the tower height is 50% - 70% lower than that of raschig ring, and the packing volume can be saved by 20% - 40% by using pall ring.

Metal pall ring is packaged and shipped by volume. A volume adjustment factor must be applied to the calculated column. Geometric volume to estimate the shipping volume required to properly fill a packed bed to account for edge and settling effects. The volume adjustment factor depends upon the packing shape and size and the bed diameter.
A contingency allowance for installation losses, typically around 5%, should be added to the shipping volume calculated above.
