1. Structured packing support grids
Structured packing requires only an open grid supported by steel flat bars. The support grid for structured packing has an open area greater than 96% of the column area. For columns less than 800mm in diameter, a whole shap support grid can be used. For columns greater than 1000 mm the segment plan should be used. This can be provided in different flat bar heights depending on strength or open area requirements.

3. Structured packing support grids purpose:
The main purpose of the packing support plate is to support the packing in the tower, and at the same time to ensure the smooth passage of gas and liquid phases. The basic requirements are:
1. It has enough strength and rigidity, and can support the quality of packing and liquid holding as well as the operating pressure, etc;
2. It has an opening ratio greater than the void ratio of the packing layer to prevent flooding at this position;
3. The structure is reasonable, which is conducive to the uniform distribution of gas and liquid phases, small resistance and easy to disassemble.
4. Hualai knowhow of structured packing support grids:
Due to the inherent structural characteristics of structured packing, the supporting device used is simple in structure. The supporting grid plate of corrugated structured packing has a spacing of 50-100mm, and the lower end of the grid bar is zigzag, so that the liquid can drop evenly from the tip of the tooth. For the small tower with flange connection (the diameter of the tower is usually less than 1 m), it can be made into an integral type. It is made of 3-10 mm thick flat steel. The height of the support ring and grid bar is 50-100 mm. It is placed on the tower ring welded on the tower wall or on 4-8 supports welded on the tower wall. These dimensions depend on the weight it bears.
For the tower with manhole, the supporting grid plate can be made into section type and assembled from the manhole into the tower. If the tower diameter is more than 2m, multiple supporting beams shall be added. The support beam can be made of I-beam, the support grid plate is placed on it, and the periphery is also placed on the tower support ring.
